Privacy Policy
Through the use of the ENFSI Textile and Hair working Group (ETHG) e-learning program (https://e-learning.ethg.eu), personal data from you will be collected, processed and stored on this platform.
In this document we inform you about our use of this data, your rights and points of contact.
Data collection
The admission to the ENFSI Textile and Hair working Group (ETHG) e-learning program (e-learning.ethg.eu) requires registration for the set-up of a user account. In order to register as a user, you are required to provide the following personal information:
- Your first and last name
- Your e-mail address
- Institute name and country
Apart from this personal information, more data will be generated through your activities on the platform, either automatically or by a trainer or site administrator:
- The courses you enrolled in
- Records of your grades and activities in courses
- Times and dates of your activities on the platform. These log files will be generated automatically by the system and stored together with your IP address, for the purpose of addressing technical problems.
Data protection
We ensure that your personal information will be made accessible only to those people who necessarily require it. Your personal data will be handled confidentially and will neither be published by us nor transferred to third parties.
However, when you follow links to external websites or services, the external providers may record your IP address.
To date, there is no intention to use the data for other purposes than for those mentioned above. In case the intention arises to use your data otherwise, you will be informed in advance.
Your Rights
You have the following rights concerning your personal data that are stored and processed on the ETHG e-learning platform:
- Right of access to all personal data stored and processed on the platform
- Right to rectification of faulty data

- Right to portability of your data, as long as they are not protected for other reasons
- Right to logde a complaint with a supervisory authority
Data processing and storage
We will use the collected data exclusively for the ETHG E-learning services on this platform and for organising and developing ETHG education and training activities in general. We may also use your contact data to ask for your feedback. If required, we also store your IP address and the date and time of your registration. For this purpose, we use service providers (e.g. eLeDia GmbH) who are strictly bound by instructions, who support us e.g. in the areas of IT or the archiving and destruction of documents and with whom separate contracts for order processing have been concluded. These data will not be transferred to third parties.
The data associated with your user profile are stored until the user profile is deleted. Data from activities within courses are stored until the respective course is deleted. Results from tests, course modules and other tasks will be stored until the expiration of legal storage obligations or your account is deleted.
Before the registration process, your consent will be obtained for this processing of your data, with reference made to this privacy policy.
If you give your consent to this processing, Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR is the legal basis for this processing.
If necessary, data is also processed beyond the fulfilment of the consent in order to protect our legitimate interests or those of third parties (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR). This may be necessary in particular to safeguard your and other data within the scope of technical organisational measures for IT security and to securely guarantee IT operations. In addition, we may contact you, for example for feedback discussions.
You may revoke your prior consent to the processing of your personal data at any time under Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR with future effect. All you have to do is inform us that you are revoking your consent. We will then delete your user account and the associated information.
The data previously collected will then be deleted as soon as processing is no longer necessary. However, we must observe any retention periods required under tax and commercial law.
